Macromedia Site of the Day

September 22nd, 2005

Today, the Notre Dame College of Arts and Letters has been named the Macromedia Site of the Day. The Notre Dame Web Group planned, designed, and developed this site. This is recognition from the most influential web development software company in the world. The showcase is considered to be the “best of the best” for web sites, and it is viewed daily by tens of thousands of web professionals and marketing communicators. I personally visit this showcase every week.

According to the company, “Macromedia recognizes websites based on their use of strong visual designs, superior functionalities, and innovative uses of Macromedia products. ”

It is evident that the Arts and Letters Web site is a leader among its peers in higher education, but now it has been recognized as a superior Web site in all categories. Our team in the Web Group is proud and well deserving of this recognition. I am truly happy that such a respected client, the College of Arts and Letters, is now regarded as offering a world-class web site to its audience. To have played such a major part in this achievement makes it even more fulfilling.

College of Arts and Letters University of Notre Dame

September 6th, 2005

It has been nearly 14 months of hard work – planning, research, design, and development.

arts and letters

We’ve reached a major milestone.

Today, the Notre Dame Web Group launched the new College of Arts and Letters website. Our team has been fortunate to work with intelligent and dedicated professionals within the College. They put their faith in us to deliver a website that not only fulfilled their goals, but also provided meaning and substance to their audience. We truly feel part of this moment.

The new site includes brand new content, databases, photos, video, and more. Plus, it is entirely built with web standards. For Notre Dame, this is a major milestone not only because this is the largest website at the University, but it also catapults us into the world of web standards on such a large scale.

Please take a moment to review the site and experience it for yourself. I would love to hear your reaction to it (contact me). Also, if you feel so inclined, congratulate the College of Arts and Letters on not only providing a top-notch website for its audience, but also fully embracing the value of web standards.

This is a historic moment on the web for The University of Notre Dame. I welcome you to visit the new College of Arts and Letters website.
