Notre Dame Web Group
August 29th, 2005
It has been very busy the past several weeks at the Notre Dame Web Group. The team is working on several projects — two of which are major milestone developments for the University. We are working on one of the largest projects I have ever seen. This project, scheduled to launch on Sept. 6, will be the single largest marketing communications projects attempted on the web at Notre Dame.
Last Thursday and Friday were pivotal moments for two of our most significant projects. The team presented the prototypes to the clients. This is normally a very tense setting as the client sees the work in action for the very first time. Every hard working day and night leads up to this moment where the client tells you what they think of the project. As the team prepared for both meetings and presentations, I took a moment and stood back to see the crew in action. In one office was Joe and John getting prepared for a demonstration. They were going over the work and discussing the agenda. In the other office was Erin and Steve getting prepared for a high-level executive committee meeting the next day. It was an awesome sight for me. Two short years ago we were just two people trying to make a name for our group. Today, we have grown into an amazing group of talented web professionals.
The presentations last week went very well. A quote from each of the meetings:
High-ranking executive at Notre Dame:
“This exceeds my expectations, and I had very high expectations.”
Faculty member getting into the elevator after the demo:
“That was awesome.”
I have never been so proud and amazed by my colleagues in my career as a web professional. This was a moment I want to remember (hence the blog post) because I saw the best in each and every member of my team. Notre Dame really has a special group of people in the Notre Dame Web Group. I am simply honored to be their leader.
